Do not also use large couch because the couch is too big and it will make the space become narrow and congested. Instead, keep things to its function and try to find modern, contemporary furniture with minimum details. Make sure that there is space in between the furniture to ensure you can walk around effortlessly. If three-seated sofa is too large, you may opt for two-seater one and add another smaller chair such as reclining chair near the TV set. This would also create a conversation area for you and your guests.

3. Organize things wherever possible.
Since you would need to make the most of your residential dwelling, ensuring that everything has their own place and well-organized, you can maximize your living room furniture. For example, you can get a coffee table that has storage compartment beneath, or you could install wall-mount racks to store books, DVDs and music CDs, to name a few.

4. Improvise.
To create a slightly different style, you may try to use two different sofas or a combination of sofa and chair. The difference here could mean different shapes, different designs, or color differences. To match the different furniture, you could place sofa cushions that have matching colors with the chair or the other way around. This would add color and style to the living room. Improvise to make the whole arrangement goes in harmony.

5. Try to have larger living room by incorporating your living room with other area in the house.
Open floor interior area would work superbly well in small-size residential dwelling. Thus, you should consider combining your living room with the kitchen, for example. Some homeowners separate their living room and the kitchen by using countertop and install see-through thick interior glass up to the ceiling to give guests a sense of width while preventing smoke and smells from the kitchen enter the living area deliberately. Types of Wood for Furniture

1. Solid Wood.
You may hear the word of solid wood. It is wood that was not formed from joint or combined wood. However, solid wood prices tend to be very expensive.

2. Plywood
Plywood is formed from several layers of wood. These sheets are bonded with high pressure and using a special adhesive. Plywood consisting of three pieces of wood called a triplex. If it consist more than three pieces of wood, it is called a multiplex.
Plywood thickness varies from 3mm, 4mm, 9mm, and 18mm. Plywood is used as material for the kitchen set, bed, closet or desk.

3. Wood particles (Particle Board)
Particle board is made of rough wood dust mixed with special chemicals. The mixture is then assembled with glue and dried by high temperature. Wood particles are widely used as material for a variety of furniture. However, wood particles belonging to the type of wood that is not durable. In a certain period of time, wood particles will change its shape, especially if exposed to water and to resist the load was too heavy.

4. Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)
MDF is made from a mixture of wood pulp to certain chemicals. The making of MDF is similar to the way of making wood particles. MDF is not resistant to water and humidity. For regions that have high humidity, you should not use MDF wood.

5. Blockboard
Wood blocks measuring of 4cm-5cm compacted using the machine and after it was given a coating, it will result in the form of sheets as a plank of wood. Blockboard have two choices of thickness that is 15mm and 18mm. The price tends to be cheaper than solid wood.
